Back Posting

Well I decided I procrastinated long enough on getting my blog updated. My days consist of usually sleeping too late then off to the gym, usually spending half my day chatting after exercise, we have coffee in the lounge so we gather there frequently. Errands, etc. and before you know it dinner is on the table and after cleanup I am ready to relax.

Have started a few months ago volunteering at my library branch, with the cut backs they had given up two days and now with all the volunteers we are open another day. I am so happy to be doing this, they are so appreciative and it is a great library.

Have taken some picture of some quilts I have finished, I just realized I didn't photograph the crazy I am working on. will do that another day.

This first one is my most recent, used all older red, blue and neutral fabrics for a quilt for a veteran. The pattern is from Layer Cake, Jelly Roll and Charm Quilts, by Pam & Nicky Lintott . The back will be pieced with leftover blues, (using them up) and I will quilt it in an allover meandering star pattern which should be easy. I hand pieced some of this at the beach last weekend, got home and realized I had the corners for the stars going the wrong way. I didn't do too many thank heavens since we decided to do a 12 mile bike ride on a great trail and I proceeded to fall once (not too bad) but then I ran into a tree on a very windy part of the path and got pretty banged up. I had to ride back with a very swollen hand. nothing broken but I am pretty black and blue.

Think I will do another one of these eventually. .
The quilt on the left is one from Kaffe Fassett's Kaleidoscope of Quilts called Morning Garden Quilt. I did this months ago but just recently quilted it on my new Janome. I loved doing this quilt. It was such fun to get those colors up on the design wall and stand back and rearrange etc. loved, loved, loved it. I have fabrics Kaffe again but I will be trying them in a Blooming Nine Patch. I will be doing this with a friend, she will use batiks, she loves to do the same pattern,
I decided to do Kim McLean's Hearts and Flower Quilt have most of the fabric washed , just have to start, think I will do the leaves first since I have to go and enlarge the center heart. I am looking forward to doing this and will post as I go along with it.

I know this was a long post but I need to catch up. have so much more to post.but I will end
